Artistic Expressions

Métis women are renowned for their prowess in the traditional Aboriginal arts of beading, quilling, embroidery and finger weaving. In fact, among some Plains First Nations the Métis were known as the “Flower Beadwork People” for their creation and dissemination of a popular beadwork motif. This section honours the traditional arts of Métis women and contemporary artists and contains all video, print and visual files relating to traditional and contemporary art forms.
