Moccasin Telegraph

It is a running joke among the Métis that they often heard rumours through the “Moccasin Telegraph”. In the past, when the Métis traveled on foot, wearing moccasins, this metaphor bore truth since this was the main form of transmitting information. To honour this tradition, this section contains all the Virtual Museum's links to other Websites and the Forum on Métis History and Culture. If you need to contact us with any questions, if you have additional information on any of the resources on The Virtual Museum of Métis History and Culture, or if you would like to submit a Website for inclusion in our links, please email us at metismuseum@gdi.gdins.org.
