This is a story of Rose Letendre’s life as told by her grandson. This story includes family names and relations as well as history of the1885 Resistance. Rose was born just a couple of years before the Resistance started and though she was very young she shared many stories as she remembered them. A troubled grandson encountering racism for the first time seeks help from his experienced and knowledgeable grandmother and she shares her Aboriginal pride with him and he walks away with a new life experience. The grandson tells when his grandmother was married and who she married and the new life her and her husband made together when they moved back to Saskatchewan. The story of where his grandfather grew up is also shared in this document. The remaining years of Grandma Rose’s life are shared and although she has been gone for awhile, she will never be forgotten. |
