Description: Alexandrine was interviewed on July 11, 1973 in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. Mrs. Nicolas, née Fleury, was born in Duck Lake in 1887. After a brief period in U.S. where she attended school she returned to the Duck Lake area where she has lived ever since. Alexandrine was mostly involved in mixed farming. She has raised her own family of ten plus three foster children. She discusses childhood, schooling, and life on mixed farm including the Depression years. Alexandrine discusses the account of the Frog Lake Massacre as told by her grandfather and relatives who fought in WWI, WWII and Korea.
