Jim Harding is a sociologist and in 1964 was involved with the Centre for Community Studies, which was a group of academics at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. They were involved in conducting socio-economic studies of northern Saskatchewan. Harding met Norris in this connection. Later, Norris acted as a Métis advisor to the Student Neestow Partnership Project, which was sending non-Aboriginal students into First Nations and Métis communities as a cross cultural exercise. Harding talks about the Neestow Project and about Malcolm's political views from Marxism to analysis of First Nations and Métis politics. David also discusses alcohol abuse and the relationship between Métis and First Nations peoples. |
