Description:	Maurice was interviewed in January of 1989. Maurice discusses when he was born and where he grew up before he enlisted. He shares his experiences of traveling to different countries and what living there was like. Maurice also discusses various jobs and the roles of those jobs that he had during the Korean War. He also shares how he was injured and some of his friends he lost during the war. Patriotic attitudes are evident in a great deal of Métis veteran stories; Maurice shares his story of his pride before he left for the war and how the war influenced these attitudes. Maurice also discusses some of the current organizations that exist and what they are and could be doing that would benefit Métis and First Nations war veterans. He also touches on some of the racism that him and his children have encountered and he reflects on his feelings about being in the army.
