Description: Lawrence and Roderick Bear were interviewed on March 9, 1993. Lawrence briefly discusses his family before he starts sharing his experiences from WWII. He discusses where, when and why he enlisted, where he fought and how he got injured. This interview also contains an indepth look at Lawrence’s life after WWII including the pensions he receives. Lawrence’s interview ends with why he joined the army, his views on war and a brief story of a friend in the war. Names of Aboriginal veterans in WWI are discussed in this interview. Roderick’s interview also contains why, where, and when he enlisted during WWII. Roderick’s love for sports in evident in this interview as he shares many stories of playing sports both during the war as well as after the war. Roderick’s interview ends with his discussion of what types of pensions he receives.
