Description:	On these pages (pgs. 114-115, The Canadian Pictorial & Illustrated War News, July 11, 1885), correspondents write about events that took place during the 1885 Resistance including information about the capture of Big Bear and Miserable Man and others, French Canadians support of Louis Riel and concern for the Métis’ plight, the death of Colonel Williams, the reorganization of the North-West Mounted Police, and the lack of Catholic Sacraments for the Métis prisoners in the Regina prison. In one instance, the Métis are actually referred to as “Métis” rather than the usual “Half-breed” or “rebels”. There is also information about the capture of Miserable Man and other “bad” Indians – who were described this way in response to the killings at Frog Lake (April 2, 1885). Of note on these pages are advertisements that delineate late nineteenth-century.
